Qingjiao Ciji Palace is a major folk-religion temple in Xiamen's Haicang district, founded in the Southern Song period in 1151. It is dedicated to Wu Ben, a physician later worshipped as Baosheng Dadi, the Great Emperor Who Protects Life.
The temple is an important site for Baosheng Dadi worship in Fujian and Taiwan, and its scale makes it more than a small neighbourhood shrine. Go for the architecture, the history, and the sense of how local religion links Xiamen with communities across the Taiwan Strait.
