Chifeng's main draw is the landscape surrounding the city — the Hexigten Geopark in particular, with its stone forests and volcanic formations. In the city itself, the museum stands out. The old commercial streets give a flavour of Mongolian market culture, and the surrounding banner counties contain temples and neolithic sites that most visitors skip entirely.
