Star of Nanchang Ferris Wheel

The Star of Nanchang (南昌之星摩天轮) is a 160-meter observation Ferris wheel sitting on the west bank of the Gan River, visible from most of the city center. At the time of its completion in 2006, it was briefly the world's largest Ferris wheel before being surpassed by structures in Singapore and Las Vegas. A full rotation takes about 30 minutes and provides sweeping views over the river, the old city, and the Honggutan development on the opposite bank.

The wheel is particularly worth riding at dusk, when the city lights up and the LED displays on the Honggutan towers begin their synchronized show across the water. The riverside park surrounding it is pleasant, with benches facing the east bank and food stalls operating in the evenings.
