Several traditional teahouses operate within the Baotu Spring park and along the spring canal channels, serving Shandong oolong teas, green teas from Laoshan (Qingdao), and the local Biluochun-style teas from the Yimeng Mountains. The teahouses set low tables and cushions along the spring channels and sell tea by the pot with a small selection of snacks — melon seeds, dried plums, sugar cane.
Sitting here in the afternoon, with the spring water flowing past and the willows overhead, is one of the genuinely pleasurable things you can do in Jinan. The teahouses inside the park charge park admission plus a tea fee; those along the canal outside the park wall are cheaper and often more atmospheric. Prices: around ¥30–60 for a pot of decent tea.
