Jinan has a metro system with several lines serving the main tourist areas. Line 1 connects the two main high-speed stations; Line 2 and Line 3 cross the city center and are most useful for visitors. The metro is clean, cheap (¥2–5 per journey), and stops are announced in English. For the spring parks, the Baotu Spring and Daming Lake areas are within easy walking distance of each other; taxis are inexpensive for longer trips.
Didi (the Chinese ride-hailing app) works well in Jinan and is the easiest option for reaching Qianfo Mountain and the eastern museum district, which are 3–5 kilometres from the spring area. Bicycles — both docked and dockless — are available across the city and useful for the flat canal-side paths near the spring district. The city is sprawling by the standards of Chinese cities, so the metro or taxis are necessary for cross-city journeys.
