Jufengde Restaurant (Shandong Cuisine)

Jufengde is one of the older-established restaurants in central Jinan serving formal Shandong banquet cuisine, with a menu that covers the full range of classic Lu dishes: braised abalone in oyster sauce, steamed sea bass with spring onion and ginger, nine-turn pork intestine (the city's most famous dish, a laborious preparation involving nine stages of cooking), and the whole roster of cold dishes that start a proper Shandong meal.

The restaurant has private dining rooms as well as the main hall, making it useful for group dinners. The décor is traditional without being kitsch. Expect to spend ¥100–150 per person for a proper meal with wine or baijiu; ordering the tasting-format banquet menu for the table is the best introduction to the cuisine's range.
