Jingsi Road and its side streets form Jinan's main concentration of bars, late-night restaurants, and entertainment venues for the young professional demographic. The bars range from small live music venues to larger club-format spaces, and the street food available on the surrounding alleys from late evening into the early hours is some of the best in the city — particularly the late-night noodles and the barbecue stalls.
Tsingtao beer is essentially the house drink of every bar in Jinan, fresh and inexpensive. The live music scene is modest but genuine, with several venues hosting regular performances of Chinese indie, folk, and jazz. The strip is busiest Friday and Saturday nights from about 9pm onward.
