Sanapur Lake sits north of the Tungabhadra amid the granite boulder country that makes the Hampi landscape so distinctive. The reservoir is less monumental than the ruins, but it gives visitors a softer place to absorb the terrain.
It works best as a relaxed add-on to Anegundi or Hippie Island routes, especially near sunset. Treat swimming and cliff-jumping claims with caution, as local conditions and enforcement can change.
