Indore's food culture is a genuine source of local pride, and justifiably so. The city is consistently rated among the best in India for street food, and it has its own specialties that you will not find as well made elsewhere. Poha — a light breakfast of flattened rice, onions, mustard seeds, and spices — is the morning staple, served with a jalebi on the side at virtually every street corner. The bhutte ka kees (spiced grated corn with milk) and garadu (fried yam with chutney) are uniquely Indori. The two main street food destinations are Sarafa Bazaar at night and Chappan Dukan by day.
