Indore's headline attractions are the Holkar dynasty palaces — the Rajwada in the old city and Lal Bagh on the outskirts — along with the extraordinary Kanch Mandir Jain temple. But the reason most travellers remember Indore is the food: the night markets at Sarafa Bazaar and Chappan Dukan are among the best street food experiences in India. Allow at least a full day, more if you want to use Indore as a base for the day trip to Mandu.
