Jahangir Mahal

Jahangir Mahal is Orchha's grandest palace, a square, many-tiered building of courtyards, chhatris, balconies, and carved stone screens. It is large enough to get slightly lost in, which is part of the pleasure.

Climb through the upper levels for views across the fort and town. The building is impressive from the courtyard, but its real character is in the changing angles of light, stone, and open air as you move through it.
