Lakshmi Narayan Temple stands slightly away from the town centre, which means some rushed visitors miss it. That is a mistake. The building is a curious blend of temple and fort forms, and the painted interiors are among Orchha's finest survivals.
Take a torch or use phone light respectfully where allowed, because the murals can be dim. The reward is a more intimate view of Orchha than the big palace silhouettes provide.
