Sunder Mahal is a small ruined palace in Orchha with a layered religious story. Dhurjban, son of Jhujhar, is said to have converted to Islam after marrying a Muslim woman in Delhi, then spent his later life here in prayer and meditation.
The building is quiet and partly ruined, but it remains a pilgrimage stop and adds a different thread to Orchha's better-known palaces, temples, and riverside cenotaphs.
