Panchakki

A 17th-century dargah (Sufi shrine) complex built around an ingenious water mill — the "panchakki" (five mills) that gives the complex its name. The mill was powered by an underground aqueduct that channelled water from a source several kilometres away, releasing it through a pipe to drive a millstone that ground grain for the shrine's kitchens and free community meals. The water cascades into a large tank that still functions as a fish pond.

The dargah is the resting place of the Sufi saint Baba Shah Musafir, and the complex includes a prayer hall, gardens with ancient banyan trees, and rooms that once housed pilgrims. It remains an active shrine and the atmosphere is genuinely devout. The combination of Mughal engineering, Sufi piety, and lush greenery makes it one of the more peaceful spots in the city.
