Soneri Mahal is a small but handsome palace in Aurangabad, built in the Deccan style and set below the hills near the university area. The name means Golden Palace, a memory of the gilded decoration that once brightened its interiors.
Today it works as both a heritage building and a museum stop. It is quieter than Bibi Ka Maqbara and the caves, but it helps round out Aurangabad's Mughal and Deccan story if you have more than a rushed day in town.
