Nagpur is a major transport hub in central India. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport has direct flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, and several other Indian cities. International connections are limited; most travellers arrive on domestic flights connecting through Mumbai or Delhi.
Nagpur Junction railway station is one of the busiest junctions in India — trains pass through from all directions, and you can reach virtually any major Indian city by rail from here. Mumbai is about 8 hours by express train; Hyderabad around 7 hours; Delhi around 14 hours. The station itself is functional and well-connected to the city by auto-rickshaw and the new metro.
By road, Nagpur sits at the intersection of several national highways. The Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway (Samruddhi Mahamarg) opened in 2022 and cuts the drive from Mumbai to around 8 hours. Long-distance buses serve most cities in Maharashtra and neighbouring states.
