The Garden of Silence sits at the eastern end of Sukhna Lake, away from the busy promenade and the boating jetty. It was conceived as a meditation space — no music, no hawkers, no children's rides, just rocks, water and shade trees. In a city as planned and on-message as Chandigarh, this is the only park designed for deliberate quiet.
A few stepped terraces lead down to the water and a couple of meditation pavilions stand in the gardens. It works best in the early morning before the joggers reach this end of the lake.
