Bundi is not a city for rushing. Its pleasures are slow ones: climbing to the fort at dawn, standing in the geometric shadows of a great step-well, getting lost in the old lanes where cows graze outside painted havelis. The murals in the palace are world-class and the step-wells are among the finest in Rajasthan. Come for two nights at minimum.
