Almost everything worth doing in Chittorgarh is inside or around the fort, which sits on a 180-metre-high plateau above the modern town. The fort is large enough to require a full half-day; cycling around it is possible and is the best way to cover the distances between the main monuments. An auto-rickshaw driver who knows the site can serve as an informal guide.
