Jaipur has a strong food scene ranging from street stalls to fine dining. The local specialties include dal bati churma, pyaaz kachori (onion-stuffed fried pastry), and laal maas (spicy red meat curry). MI Road is the main restaurant strip, with long-established places like Niros (since 1949) and Surya Mahal serving reliable Indian and continental food.
For street food, head to the old city. The area around Johari Bazaar and the lanes near Hawa Mahal have excellent samosa and kachori stalls. Laxmi Mishtan Bhandar (LMB) on Johari Bazaar is a Jaipur institution for sweets and snacks.
