Kaylana Lake gives Jodhpur a wide, open edge after the tight lanes and blue houses of the old city. The reservoir sits west of town, where low hills and dry scrub frame the water and make the evenings feel cooler and slower.
The lake is most rewarding near sunset, when locals come out for a drive or a walk and the sky can turn the water copper. It is a simple outing rather than a full attraction, but it is one of the better places around Jodhpur to feel the desert landscape opening up.
