Jodhpur has excellent street food and a growing cafe scene. The clock tower area is ground zero for local snacks -- mirchi bada (deep-fried chili fritters), pyaaz kachori, and makhaniya lassi (a rich saffron-laced yogurt drink) are essential. For sit-down meals, the restaurants near the train station and around Sardarpura serve reliable Rajasthani thalis and North Indian food.
The old city also has several rooftop restaurants with views of Mehrangarh Fort, popular with travelers for both the food and the atmosphere.
