Sariska Tiger Reserve sits in the Aravalli Hills about 35 km from Alwar and 200 km from Delhi. It is smaller and far less visited than Ranthambore, which means quieter jeep safaris and a more authentic wilderness feel, though tiger sightings are less predictable.
The park covers about 800 square kilometers of dry deciduous forest and rocky hills. Beyond tigers (reintroduced in 2008 after being poached to local extinction), Sariska is home to leopards, nilgai, sambar deer, langurs, and a rich variety of birdlife. The ruins of the 10th-century Kankwari Fort inside the park and the Neelkanth temples add historical interest to the wildlife experience. The park is closed during the monsoon (July to September).
