Varanasi Junction (Kashi Station) is one of the busiest railway stations in Uttar Pradesh and the main arrival point for visitors to the city. It is worth noting not as a tourist attraction but as an experience in itself: a large, chaotic Indian railway station serving hundreds of trains a day, with a distinctive chai culture on the platforms and the constant activity of a major transit hub.
For practical purposes: auto-rickshaws and taxis wait outside the main exit. Bargain hard or use a metered cab app. The station is about 3 km from the main ghat area.
