The new ferry pier at the southern end of Sanur is the main embarkation point for fast boats to the Nusa islands: Lembongan (about 25 minutes), Ceningan (via Lembongan), and Penida (about 45 minutes). Half a dozen operators run the route, with boats roughly every 30 minutes through the day. The pier extends into the shallow water at Pantai Matahari Terbit — at low tide you wade or take a small skiff out to the waiting fast boat. Useful as a day-trip launching point even if you don't stay on the islands.
