La Lucciola is the long-running Italian beach restaurant directly opposite Pura Petitenget — open since the early 1990s and still the choice for a good Italian dinner on the sand. The dining room is a tall open-sided pavilion with a thatched roof, looking straight out over the beach.
The menu is upper-end Italian: handmade pastas, seafood-heavy mains, a serious wine list. Lunch is more casual; sunset and dinner require reservation, particularly on weekends. The cocktails at the upstairs bar are some of the best in Seminyak.
