Kantor Pos Besar Semarang is the city's old central post office, a colonial-era landmark on Jalan Pemuda near the Kota Lama area. Its mansard roof, eclectic European styling, and prominent corner position make it one of the easier historic buildings to notice while moving between the old town and the busier commercial streets.
The building still carries a working-institution feel rather than a polished museum atmosphere. That makes it a quick but worthwhile architecture stop: pause for the facade, then continue toward Kota Lama's churches, warehouses, and cafes. It helps show how Semarang's colonial city expanded beyond a single postcard block.
