Dowlat Abad Gardens are one of the Persian gardens inscribed by UNESCO, combining long pools, pavilions, shade trees, and one of Yazd's most famous windcatchers. The garden was laid out for comfort in the desert, using water, air movement, and careful geometry to cool the residence.
Come late in the day if you can, when the light softens on the pavilion and the windcatcher is easiest to appreciate. It pairs well with Yazd's old town and Zoroastrian sites.
