The Museum of Zoroastrians History and Culture, also known as the Markar Museum, adds useful human detail to Yazd's better-known fire temples and towers of silence. Its rooms explain Zoroastrian customs, education, clothing, ceremonies, and the community's long presence in central Iran.
It is a quiet, readable museum rather than a blockbuster sight. Visit it before or after Yazd's Zoroastrian sacred sites and those places become less abstract: the rituals, schools, charities, and family life behind them come into sharper focus.
