Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum

A naval museum on the slopes of Mount Carmel telling the story of the Aliyah Bet — the clandestine Jewish immigration to British Mandate Palestine in the 1930s and 1940s — and the post-1948 Israeli navy. The main exhibit is an immigrant ship beached in the museum compound, which visitors can walk through.

The naval wing adds submarines, missile boats, and material from later conflicts. Worth an hour, more if the maritime history is of interest.

A story
The centrepiece is the Af-Al-Pi-Chen — Hebrew for "in spite of everything" — a 1947 ship that ran the British blockade carrying 434 Jewish refugees from Italy. It was rammed by a Royal Navy destroyer, towed to Haifa harbour, and the survivors transferred to detention camps in Cyprus.
