Jodoji Temple

Jodoji Temple is one of the strongest individual stops on the Old Temple Loop. Tradition links its founding to Prince Shotoku, and the main hall and pagoda are designated National Treasures.

The temple sits toward the eastern end of the walk, away from the most photographed Senkoji slopes. That makes it a good place to slow down and look properly at the architecture rather than simply pass through on the way to the view.
