Yomei-ji Temple

Yomei-ji is a Soto Zen temple founded in 1420 and long associated with Tsuwano's feudal lords. The temple grounds also hold the grave of Mori Ogai, the writer and army doctor who remains one of Tsuwano's best-known figures.

It is a quieter counterpoint to Taikodani Inari Shrine and Tonomachi Street, worth adding if you are following the town's literary and samurai-era history.
