Mihokogaura is a sheltered bay near Hososhima Commercial Port, with a small beach that is calmer than Hyuga's more exposed surf coast. It is one of the better local choices for swimming when the Pacific side is being pounded by waves.
Across the road, a tiered hillside park gives good views back over the bay. It is a low-key stop, but a pleasant one if you are already exploring the coast around Umagase and Kurusu no Umi.
