Aqaba's beaches are mixed in quality. The public city-centre beaches are not particularly clean. The better options are south of the centre along the Marine Park coast: Barracuda Beach is a popular shore-diving and snorkelling site with good access to the reef; Tala Bay further south is a large resort complex with a wide, cleaner beach and marina. Most better beach areas charge entrance fees or are attached to hotels. The Red Sea water is warm and very clear from April to November; winter swimming is cooler but possible.
