Anise is the cocktail bar that drove Beirut's craft drinks scene forward. The cocktails — built around arak, cardamom, sumac and other local flavours — are imaginative without being gimmicky, and the bartenders take the work seriously.
The room is intimate, the music is low, and the conversation is meant to be possible. Prices are higher than the Torino-end of Mar Mikhael, in line with anywhere else in the world that takes its cocktails seriously.
