Younes has been roasting coffee in Hamra since 1935 and brewing it for customers since the 1980s. The current cafe, on Nehme Yafet Street, is a quiet, slightly bookish room of older students, journalists, and longtime regulars.
The Arabic coffee with cardamom is excellent; the espresso is equally serious. They sell beans by weight to take away. A perfect morning stop on a wander between AUB and Hamra Street.
