The most famous of Ipoh's nga choi kai (bean sprout chicken) restaurants, on Jalan Yau Tet Shin in the New Town. The fixed three-part order is the way to eat it: a plate of poached chicken cut into chunks, a plate of fat juicy bean sprouts dressed in soy and sesame oil, and a bowl of silky kai si hor fun (chicken-and-prawn noodles) — eaten in rotation.
Open from late morning to late evening. Cash only, plastic stools, communal tables, no booking — just turn up and wait for a seat. Always busy and worth the queue.
