Set within the Lake Gardens, the KL Bird Park is one of the world's largest free-flight walk-in aviaries, with around 3,000 birds of more than 200 species living in a 8.5-hectare netted enclosure. Hornbills, peacocks, flamingos, and parrots wander past your feet as you walk under the canopy; smaller cages contain owls, raptors, and breeding pairs.
The park is divided into four zones, with feeding shows and bird-of-prey demonstrations through the day — check the schedule at the entrance. Allow two hours. It is hot and humid even by KL standards, so come early. Combined tickets are available with the neighbouring Butterfly Park and Orchid Garden within the Lake Gardens. Open 9 am to 6 pm daily.
