Al-Ghufran Royal Mausoleum

The burial place of the Perak sultans, next to the Ubudiah Mosque

The Makam Diraja Al-Ghufran is the royal mausoleum of the Sultans of Perak, occupying a walled enclosure immediately next to the Ubudiah Mosque. The graves run from the early 20th century to the present, marked by carved stone headstones in the Malay tradition, beneath shading trees.

Non-Muslim visitors are welcome to enter the outer compound and pay quiet respects, though the inner enclosure is sometimes restricted. The mausoleum is one of the few places in Malaysia where the long unbroken sequence of a royal house is plainly visible — Perak's sultanate is one of the oldest still-functioning royal dynasties in Southeast Asia.
