Kyauk Kalap is a monastery set on a small artificial lake, with a narrow rock pinnacle rising from the water and a pagoda perched on top. The setting, with fish-filled water and karst hills beyond, makes it one of the most distinctive short trips around Hpa-an.
Visitors usually come for photos, the lakeside temple, and the view back across the surrounding countryside.
