A long limestone cave directly across the road from Davis Falls, descended by a steep staircase to a small Shiva lingam shrine in the antechamber, then continuing 100 metres deeper to a window on the river thundering through the cavern from above. The cave-and-falls combination is the only place in Nepal where you can stand under a waterfall that is disappearing into rock.
The cave is shorter and less elaborate than the great show caves of Europe, but unique for the integration of river and shrine. Take a flashlight; the lighting is dim in places. Wear shoes with grip — the wet rock is slippery. Modest entrance fee; closed during heavy monsoon flooding.
