Lakeside is one long parade of bars and cafes. Sunset is the magic hour — most of the bars on the lake-facing strip have rooftop or terrace seating with a direct view of Phewa Lake and the Annapurnas turning pink. After dinner, live music venues stay open until the official 11pm curfew (occasionally later). Drinks are cheap by Western standards: 250–400 NPR for a local beer (Everest, Gorkha, Khukri rum), more for imports.
