Saeed Book Bank, in the south side of the Jinnah Super Market, is one of the largest bookshops in Pakistan. Three floors of new books — Urdu and English fiction, a deep section on Islamic studies, an excellent travel and history section on Pakistan and the wider region, large children's and academic sections.
It is the easiest place in Islamabad to pick up Pakistani novelists in English translation, or the standard histories of the region (Ayesha Jalal, Akbar Ahmed, Anatol Lieven). Prices are at or below international levels.
