Mount Falak Sair is the highest peak of the Hindu Raj range and the dominant mountain at the head of the Swat Valley, rising to 5,918 metres. From Matiltan, above Kalam, the view of its long snow ridge is one of the iconic sights of northern Pakistan.
The peak itself is a serious technical climb and was first summited only in 1955 by an Austrian expedition. For most visitors it is a view rather than an objective — but the meadows below it, around Kandol and Spin Khwar lakes, offer some of the best trekking in Swat for parties with a guide and proper kit.
