Beaches

White Beach on the western shore is the famous one — four kilometres of fine, almost cool-to-the-touch white sand washed by calm turquoise water. It is divided into Stations 1 (north, smarter), 2 (middle, busy) and 3 (south, mellower). On the eastern side, Bulabog Beach has rougher, shallower water perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing during the amihan season (November through April).

For something quieter, head north to Puka Beach at the top of the island, where the crowds thin out and you can still find the puka shells the beach is named after. Diniwid, just around the corner from Station 1, is a smaller, mellower stretch reachable by a footpath cut into the cliff. Ilig-Iligan on the eastern side and Baling Hai on the northwest are tucked-away coves worth the boat ride.
