Cavite's appeal is primarily historical. This is the province that gave the Philippines its independence movement and more revolutionary heroes per square kilometre than anywhere else in the country. The colonial-era fortifications, WWII sites, and the cool highlands above Taal Volcano offer a genuine alternative to Manila's malls and beaches.
