The Capitol Park and Lagoon is a well-maintained provincial park adjacent to the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol, popular with families and joggers in the early morning and late afternoon. The lagoon at the centre has paddle boats for rent, and the landscaped grounds around it are pleasant for a walk in the cooler parts of the day.
The park sits within the Capitol Central complex, which also houses the Negros Museum and the provincial government buildings. It is one of the more attractive public spaces in Bacolod and gives a sense of what the city looks like when it is not commercial — families picnicking, vendors selling snacks, children feeding the fish in the lagoon.
