Bacolod has more going on than its food scene suggests. The city's plazas, churches, and universities tell the story of Negros Occidental's sugar wealth, and the Provincial Capitol area is worth an afternoon of wandering. The Negros Museum offers a good introduction to local history and culture. For something active, the Bacolod Golf and Country Club and Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club both welcome visitors.
