Jeepneys are the main local transport, colour-coded by route and inexpensive. Tricycles (motorcycle with sidecar) and pedicabs cover shorter distances within the city. Taxis are available; agree the fare in advance. Within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, vehicles must enter through the gate; once inside you can walk, cycle, or take a shuttle between the main areas. A car or jeep is useful for the wider Subic Bay region and for reaching nearby beaches and day trip destinations.
