Most of the major attractions are inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, the former US naval base now converted into a tourism and economic zone. Zoobic Safari (the only tiger safari in the Philippines) and Ocean Adventure marine park are the two biggest draws for families. Pamulaklakin Forest Park offers jungle tours and survival courses led by the indigenous Aeta people, including a zip-line ride through the forest canopy. Wreck diving is outstanding — Spanish and Japanese naval vessels lie in the bay from multiple conflicts.
The Olongapo City Museum (near the city hall) has exhibits on local history and the Ulo ng Apo legend that gives the city its name.
